Applications Engineer
ElevATE is a leading supplier of innovative, low power, high density components for the design of next generation Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
Elevate is currently seeking an Applications Engineer to grow our technical support team in our San Diego, CA office. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for our products and customers to help us grow our business. Prior knowledge of the ATE industry, along with Verilog or VHDL knowledge is helpful, but not required. This position requires a dynamic, self-motivated, hard-working, results oriented individual to make contributions to a small, but very focused team
Responsibilities
- Generation of technical documentation for Elevate products including datasheets, product guides, application notes and other material to support integration of these devices into customer systems.
- Provide technical support of Elevate IC products for our worldwide customers
- Act as the technical interface between customers and the factory
- Assist customers with device and system level troubleshooting
- Review customer circuit schematics
- Demonstrate Elevate products at customer sites
- Interface with internal engineering teams to help bring new products from initial concept through production release by assisting with new product definition, bench validation, and generation of technical documentation
- Perform bench testing and analysis to support customer inquiries and troubleshooting issues. Reproduce customer observations and provide technical guidance on how to use Elevate parts.
- Manage external vendors for PCB fab/assembly activity and maintain hardware documentation.
- Analyze competitive landscape and identify differentiation for Elevate IC products.
- Support failure, quality, and reliability analysis in conjunction with the operations team.
- Coordinate with the sales team through the entire sales process
- Assist with product recommendations for new customer designs
- Assist with on-site customer visits to promote Elevate IC products
Required Skills
- BS in Engineering or equivalent job experience
- Expert in the use of electronic bench equipment – hands on experience in the lab debugging, probing, and characterizing silicon using a mixture of custom-made and standard equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, source measurement units, etc.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written are essential to this position.
- Solid system and circuit level troubleshooting capability
- Basic understanding of transistor level circuits.
- Be self-motivated and require minimal supervision.
- Experience with ANSI C programming language
- Some International Travel Required
